On May 10, I had the great opportunity to meet one of my political inspirations in Calgary: Justin Trudeau. I could likely waste this whole article gushing like a "Beatlemania" fan (or I guess "Trudeaumaniac" of old) but as warm, personable and charismatic as Justin Trudeau is, it was his message that resonated with myself and the rest of the eager crowd.

Devalued, demoralized and disrespected is how five people over the age of 50 from a local well respected employment agency in Medicine Hat were treated when they were escorted out of their work site on a recent Monday morning. They were not allowed to say goodbye to their co-workers.

I got a phone call about getting my interest rate reduced on my BMO MasterCard.ÊI was asked for the security number on the back of the card. Why? In 2004, I was in the hospital and I bought a printer for my business by giving out my card number over the phone.

I always find Don Weisbeck's commentaries entertaining misguided but entertaining. His latest quasi-analysis of the Wildrose Party's defeat in the recent election was particularly interesting. His musing is that the polls were right prior to the election, but that roughly 20 per cent of the Wildrose support was, in his words, "fragile.

First came Alex McCuaig's piece about oil and gas royalties here in Alberta. He's bang on with his analysis. Ed Stelmach simply caved to the pressure from the oil companies when he reneged on the royalty increases, which shows just how controlled we are in this province by "big oil.

The accused in this particular case and about 10 others in court that morning negotiated guilty pleas in exchange for greatly reduced charges and subsequently greatly reduced penalties.

My mother is a most remarkable woman.ÊApproaching age 80 has not stopped her from trying to do what she thinks is right.ÊA clean environment and health care for all are just a couple of the issues she cares deeply about.ÊI can remember walking with her in the late 1960s while she handed out posters to businesses regarding the dangers of phosphates in laundry soap, long before it was a green issue.

On May 1, I was shopping with my two-year-old daughter at the Medicine Hat Mall. She ran off down the mall somewhere and for 10 minutes she was missing. Jenna Lee, along with the other staff at La Senza, were helping to look for my daughter.

I am shocked that you would print the Ticked Off comment mentioned above. Could you provide me with one logical reason that you would run that offensive and nonsensical comment? Clearly the reader is frustrated, and I empathize.
