Practice runs open Medicine Hat Speedway

The drivers from the Medicine Hat Auto Racing Association got re-acquainted with the Medicine Hat Speedway on Saturday, and the 2012 season will have a bit of a different look than past years. This season the local drivers will race in the new renegade truck and hobby stock classes as well as the returning International Motor Contest Association stock class.

Defence worries coaches

After their non-conference games on Saturday, all the Medicine Hat High School Mohawks and Crescent Height High School Vikings baseball teams could talk about was playing better defence. The Mohawks defeated Maple Creek 13-9 on Saturday at Athletic Park, and the Vikings followed up by dropping a 15-8 decision to Maple Creek after the Hat High match.

Vets pumped for summer with Monarchs

Konner Lutz and Braden Goldade want to soak in what might be their last summer playing baseball with their buddies. The pair are both set to be mainstays once again on the Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs American Legion AA baseball team.

Junior varsity Colts take Vauxhall tourney

The Monsignor McCoy junior varsity Colts baseball team took the Vauxhall High School Tournament in impressive style on Saturday in Vauxhall. The Colts defeated the High River Mustangs 16-6 in the tournament final in a match that ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.
